What we do

TGMM is by no means the pursuit of a six-pack or T-shirt muscle. We aim to be more than haircuts and tattoos, although most of us are covered! Functional, useful fitness is what we are about. We believe that maintaining fitness for purpose is fundamental to life. Picture scenarios where your fitness may be called upon; Pulling someone out of a crashed vehicle, climbing over a wall if being chased, defending yourself from attack, carrying in the shopping without going into cardiac arrest.

By focusing simply on how you look you can reverse what your body was intended to do – Move. When training for functional movement you are not only able to achieve greater physical movements, but you create an entirely better physique for yourself.

Gym is certainly better than no gym, but we believe they can hold us back physically. They encourage robotic one-dimensional movement that builds muscle in areas sometimes not needed. Big arms slow you down and stretch your T-shirt.

By incorporating a range of different movements and physical pursuits you can turn it up to beast mode in no time!

We hold regular (and free) outdoor sessions, for general fitness. These run most evenings, from various locations, with some simple warm ups and professional instruction.

We believe a true test of physical strength is the ability to lift your own body weight. We do this in numerous ways whilst practising Callisthenics. From muscle ups to hand stand push ups.

Balance and Agility are two of the 7 fundamentals of fitness. They not only allow you to move better in training and sports, but also aid you in preventing injuries. To coach these abilities, as well as callisthenics, we take part in less-traditional activities, for example, we long board.

You can’t master personal fitness without hard work. The sand dunes is nothing short of that. Team dune sprints will enhance your cardio game beyond recognition.

Excessive comfort can weaken us. Our lives today are characterised by making things more comfortable. We at TGMM flip this on its head and practice hardship with purpose.

Nothing fosters cooperation between lads quite so much as when you’re sharing a burden. Blow the cobwebs out with the Para style log carry session.

We rely on others for everything including our food and water. Learn where to find your own from the fat of the land as you run through the Welsh hills with your mates.
